Our company was founded by Robert Bachi, a pioneer and innovator in the field of automated coil winding.
In 1978, Mr. Bachi established the R&D division of the Bachi Company in Egg Harbor, WI. Following his sale of Bachi Company in 1990, Mr Bachi retained the assets of the R&D division renaming it Itasca Systems. Since 1990, Itasca Systems has been a leading producer of high quality coil winding and automation machines used worldwide.
In 2003, William Weborg, a long time employee, purchased the company.
In 2006, Itasca Systems was purchased, expanded, and renamed Itasca Automation Systems to better reflect a growing need for automated coil winding solutions.
Today, Itasca Automation Systems designs and manufactures precision automated machines for the coil winding industry. Our engineers design solutions to meet our customer’s specific needs. Using modern 3D CAD tools and a lean modular machine design approach, we specialize in collaborative, concurrent design of machinery. Our products include automated multi-spindle winders, terminal insertion, soldering, taping, testing and other core coil finishing processes.
Our facilities are located on the beautiful Door County Peninsula in Wisconsin. Door County is known internationally for its custom yacht and ship building. Door County is one of the leading Cherry growing counties in the U.S.A.
